Dumbo, Brooklyn- Sunday evening was full of creative hair styles on the LED runway. Can we just say that 155 Water Street, in Brooklyn was beaming with black girl magic.

The event was hosted by Jes Perez, ft. The Cut Life founder Tahira Joy.

Enjoi Lux presented us with a unique twist on a beauty favorite, the hair show. But this was no ordinary hair show.

The perimeter of the venue was aligned with vendors , the bar was at the very back.

An LED runway which lit up in various colors lined the center of the room. There were even a few LED chairs guests sat in on either side of the runway while watching the show.

The show was attended by popular beauty bloggers Avielle, Yariszbeth, and others. Popular celebrity hair stylist Cynthia Alvarez attended along with tv host and producer Kela Walker. Brooklyn Tankard of Bravo Tv’s Thicker Than Water attended as well and spoke with us about her new initiative of inspiring women. Her interview will be featured in our video coverage of this event coming soon

Each model who walked down the runway rocked a creative short hair cut, with color and style. There were pixie cuts, tapered cuts, brush cuts, twa’s, blunt above the ear bobs, and the list goes on. I was stunned by the level of creativity and versatility these stylists were able to capture in short hair.

Stylist from Hair Rules, Lucid Bliss, and other salons were responsible for the edgy cuts showcased on the runway.

After the runway show guests were encouraged to mix and mingle with one another and proceeding the networking session there were 2 live hair cuts on stage for everyone to watch. One model was given a mo-hawk while the other who was natural was given more of a tapered bowl cut.

Before ending the show guests were offered bites such as mac n cheese shooters, mini cupcakes, and mini chicken and waffles, catered by The Quiche House, Ambitious Vee, and Vanity Sweets.  Some of the overall sponsors of the event included Hair Rules, Swivel, Outre, Lucid Bliss, The Cut Life, and Enjoi Lux among others.

Look at photos from the event below and stay tuned to this post for a full video recap later this week. Add us to your favorites so you don’t miss the video.
