Newark, NJ- Every Wednesday night La Rouge Lounge downtown Newark hosts an event called Vibes in the City. This event is an open mic intended for hopeful musicians to showcase their talents. In culmination of their usual open mic Vibes in the City hosted a premiere party for the new VH1 Show Signed where New Jersey native and singer M Rose is a featured contestant.

The 20 something year old singer first got her start on Vine then moved on to Instagram racking up close to 20k followers and devout fans of her artistry. If you take a peek at her page you’ll witness countless a-cappella videos of her singing along with videos of her playing her acoustic guitar while singing.

She’s now one of a unique group of fellow hungry music artists to be featured on this reality show. Signed also features music mogul judges Producer/music artist The Dream of Radio Killa Records, record label owner/ rapper Rick Ross of Maybach Music Group, and Lenny S of Roc Nation . These 3 moguls are responsible for choosing who stays and gets signed and who goes (no pressure). The most impressive contestant in the end with have an opportunity to get signed to any one of the 3 record labels above. Think American Idol with an urban twist.

On Wednesday night M Rose championed a packed house at La Rouge Lounge of devout fans, friends, and those rooting for her victory on the new competitive show. After the premiere ended M Rose gave everyone a live performance of 2 of her songs one being “Be Alright” which got the crowd hype.
