Leah Janell, hopes that her life will serve as a testament to young women everywhere.

Born in the projects of Brooklyn, New York Janell moved to Los Angeles, CA in hopes of pursuing a career in acting during her early adulthood. She chronicles what led up to this big move, why her acting career ended, and how you can learn from all of the events that transpired in between.

“…myself I feel like I have always lived in this fantasy world where I feel like I wanted things my way… I always thought that I was doing things my way and the better way but its like you have this fantasy and dream if living this luxurious lifestyle when really you don’t know that you’re kind of staying on the surface…”

“…In every chapter women will find something that they can relate to… my target is more so young girls because I kind of want them to be able to see that there is so much more than what is offered on the block and just not to settle…”

It’s a good read, I believe the young girls will latch on and get the message That Leah is trying to get across and learn from it as well like she intended them to. Also good interview as it gave a more in depth look as to why the book was written, inspiration etc…

This interview was inspiring and strong but the Book! Like changing… for so many young women trying to find themselves they get a lot of “Do as I say, Not as I do”. Leah Janell has found a way to tap into a space with young women where relating to our youth and showing them that we as adults/parents etc. have way more in common and we’ve been through some things that our stories if we are willing to be vulnerable and honest can lead to a better way for them experiencing these life struggles now. And it opens the door for conversation otherwise not able to be had between us and young women.

Great Interview! Great book. Inspiring story Leah! Your selflessness won’t go unnoticed. Thank you for using your past experiences to show young girls like myself, that it’s okay, mistakes are going to be made. Learn from them and use your voice to help the next female to not make the same mistakes. Love it

It’s a great book. What really captured my attention was the trailers she released for it. They were amazing and the book didn’t disappoint. It was a great story and I wish she continues to write more!
