KidFash Magazine Hosts Anti-Bullying Fashion Show in Brooklyn
Brooklyn, NY- Owner of KidFash Magazine Damon Ross said his inspiration behin a magazine centered around kid’s fashion was for the chance to give children the opportunity to see them selves in a magazine. “We started the magazine in April of 2016. I was a photographer but wanted to give kids the opportunity to see themselves in a magazine and if you don;t live in New York or LA it can be difficult to have that experience…Then there were so many different stories coming my way and I was thinking ‘man we can really elaborated on everything that goes on in a kid’s life.”

“Bullying is never okay. Parents losing a child to bullying is even worse. As an adult who has and still experiences bullying for my reason to love who I want, I couldn’t be more proud of my client, KidFash Magazine, for creating a community staple with this tour”, says Sherod Lewis, Heir PR Founder & CEO.
On Saturday Nov, 4th we witnessed people from all walks of life, genders, races, sexuality and creed come together with a common purpose — to put an end to bullying. With recent news of kids committing suicide or killing classmates due to being bullied, there is no time than now to come together to take a stand. Hosts Vivian Hicks and Ruby Jay opened their portion of the show with some very important bullying facts that the audience should be aware of. One that swept the room by surprise was when Ruby stated, “Over 3.2 million students are victims of bullying each year”.

Owner of KidFash Damon Ross explained why ant-bullying was the perfect cause to support, “Anti-bullying is a really big topic these days, and you’ve got kids killing themselves and unfortunately alot of these kids are just very depressed or they’re getting attacked by friends… we just wanted to make sure that we can bring everyone together and have a good time, build good relationships, friendships, and to also bring awareness to anti-bullying. The fact that a lot of kids feel like its only them that have experienced it when they’re going through it. When they find out there are so many kids that are having that experience it makes them feel a little better knowing that they’re not the only one.”

The event went on with some amazing designer showcases, performances and speeches. The room was filled with so much love and great energy as everyone embraced one another and their differences, and received them for who they were. As Vivian also stated, “by age 14 less than 30% of boys and 40% of girls will talk to their peers about bullying”. With those numbers, and kids finding it easier to talk to friends — they may avoid talking to parents or siblings altogether. Please contact your local anti-bullying organization and help make a difference.
