What to wear from Work to Dinner on Valentine’s Day
This year Valentine’s Day falls on a weekday which means for many of us it’s a work day.
.
While some couples chose to celebrate this past weekend. It’s possible to celebrate the night of Valentine’s Day, and have a work appropriate look that will easily transition you into night. Below are three outfits from fashion stylist Orly Schwartz of Zahavi & Schwartz, LLC. , based on the work environment that will take you from Valentine’s Day to Valentine’s Night!
.
Conservative/Traditional Work Office
.
If you work in an office that happens to be more formal and requires a suit jacket, then I would recommend wearing a traditional shift dress with a modest neck line under your blazer. This is a great way to be V-Day festive for the office, but still appropriate. Make sure to tone down the red, by utilizing neutrals. Black is an easy go-to as it is versatile and goes with everything. The black leather heels I chose have a pointed toe which is all business, the lower heel makes them office appropriate, while the sling-back allows the shoe to be sexier for night. For the office pull your hair back and out of your face with a low ponytail or bun. Pair with a quilted leather black bag and put your night time accessories inside.
.
Easily transition to night and dress up the outfit, by removing the blazer and throwing on a knit black cape, and pulling your hair down. This dress also has a gold two-way zipper going down the back. Create more movement for dancing by unzipping it a bit at the bottom. Add sparkle with gold earrings, to bring attention to your face, and pair with a gold bracelet. For some fun grab a black and white Lucite clutch that will fit your basic necessities like license, credit card, work ID, phone, and lipstick. Leave the blazer and tote bag at work; you can get them tomorrow after a great Valentine’s Day date!

Casual & Relaxed Start up Environment
.
For the ladies who work in a casual environment this is for you. If you’re in the laid back office where you have the opportunity to wear jeans, go for it! I love these dark wash high-rise Made-well jeans, the cut off tulip hem will bring attention to the bright red heeled booties.. Layer this pink pussy-bow tank top under this cute festive sweater and you have an outfit perfect for work and Valentine’s Day all in one! Top it off with a pair of heart hoop earrings. The petal pink backpack will easily make a great work bag, and a comfortable one as well. Throw on the faux fur jacket for added personality and utilize it for later when transitioning into your date night.
.
Depending if your date is with your bae or friends this look can be transition from formal to relaxed. You can pack a satin skirt with a pair of tights or you can pack the rose gold belt. Bring the red heart cross body bag for a fun and whimsical bonus. If your meet-up is more relaxed stay in the jeans, just take off the sweater tuck in the tank top and add the belt to make it neat. Keep the earrings on and maybe throw your hair up in high pony tail. If you are going somewhere dressy get out of those Jeans throw on the skirt, tuck in the tank top and leave your hair down. For another look keep in the heart hooped earrings, red boots, and accent with the red cross body bag. You are good to go, don’t forget your jacket in order to keep cozy!

Fashion Forward and Creative Offices
.
Working in an office where there is a strict professional dress policy trying to pull together a date night look can be hard to the everyday woman.
For this take the trend of dress over pants, and go from there. For those who want to get into the spirit but prefer not to wear their hearts on their sleeves, below shows how we got creative. Start the day out in with this high neck dress, paired with red flared trousers, and throw on a matching blazer. Make the outfit chic with a pair of white converse, extra points for them being Comme-des-garcon play. Finish off this look with gold and white earrings and this large pink tote. Your coat is your cape so throw that over your shoulders. Don’t forget a change of shoes; these black heeled booties will look great later when you wear just the dress as it was originally intended. Cinch your waist with a thick black belt, and throw on the jeweled earrings to take the look to the next level. Swap out you tote for a cross body bag and you are all set to go!
