It’s been a little over a week since a Philadelphia Starbucks manager had 2 black men arrested because she thought the men looked suspicious. The men were apparently waiting on a friend and the 3 were planning to have a business meeting. Ever since this incident of racial profiling many have decided to forgo their daily Starbucks coffee run until something is done to reprimand the manager and Starbucks as a whole. Starbucks responded swiftly the following day of the controversy last week saying they’re closing 8,000 U.S. stores on May 29th so their employees can undergo a racial bias training class.
