Roselle,NJ- UrbanGirl Magazine attended the September “BELIEVE THE HYPE” art exhibit that showcased urban artwork and musical talent from the Tri-State area, which took place on September 23rd.

The event was hosted by prominent FoQus Ink, a tattoo studio located Roselle, NJ, the Friday evening had an atmosphere reminiscent of a Black Ink Crew episode. Needless to say, it was lit!

An outdoor deck was filled with artists, body painters, and over a dozen showcased canvases. Every piece had a message and a voice. Most were urban in their point of view–thought provoking pieces that I would have been proud to take home and and let speak from my walls.

Affordable cocktails were mixed for purchase and complimentary wine and cheese were served to set the the tone. As you continued through the 420 friendly space, the hip hop sounds by an in-house DJ satisfied the guests. The indoor space also provided a stage for local artists to showcase their musical talents and network.

The next monthly BELIEVE THE HYPE event is being held in Roselle, NJ on October 15th from 6-12pm. If you’re looking for unique art with an urban feel, this event is not to be missed! Pull up, enjoy the atmosphere, and support local talent!
