Shanquella Robinson 25 of North Carolina was killed while on vacation in Mexico on October 29th. Shanquella purchased a villa in Cabo to help celebrate one of her friend’s birthday.
Robinson was accompanied by six friends, while on vacation. Her friends were Daejhanae Jackson, Wenter Donovan, Khalil Cooke, Nazeer Wiggins, Malik Dyer, and Alysse Hyatt.
An altercation between Robinson and Jackson was captured on video and posted to facebook. It has since been deleted but was heavily circulated on social media and Robinson’s story went viral. Celebrities, blogs, and black-owned news sources kept this story alive. The case is being investigated by Mexican authorities and the FBI.
An arrest warrant was issued on Wednesday in the death of Shanquella Robinson.
“This case is fully clarified, we even have a court order, there is an arrest warrant issued for the crime of femicide to the detriment of the victim and against an alleged perpetrator, a friend of her who is the direct aggressor. Actually it wasn’t a quarrel, but instead a direct aggression. We are carrying out all the pertinent procedures such as the Interpol alert and the request for extradition to the United States of America. It’s about two Americans, the victim and the culprit…,” Daniel de la Rosa Anaya, local prosecutor for the state of Baja California Sur, said.
It is currently being assumed that the direct aggressor is Robinson’s friend Daejhanae Jackson, but there are no confirmations for this assumption. Authorities have not given the name of which friend of the six the arrest warrant is for.
