Warith Jumah also known as El-Amin is the CEO of the Passionate Rebel Clothing Line, which is based in Plain-field, NJ.
Jumah was the winner of the Them Cloud Kids UBUNTU 30 Under 30 Wellness Awards earlier this month.
Now I know what you’re thinking, another clothing line? Right!? Wrong. Passionate Rebel Clothing isn’t your average clothing line. This line has a mission so much larger than fashion. It’s in fact a life style movement meant to instill hope in people and to further inspire them to follow their passion.
Passionate Rebel just so happens to use the fashion world as one of their vehicles to reach their goals of inspiring the urban youth and in instilling change in the masses.
During our interview El-Amin told us about how “Passionate Rebel is about acquiring more for yourself, outside of the educational aspect…”
Many say the infamous Passionate Rebel bear reminds them of the Kanye West mascot he proudly touted around as the college drop back in his early days of music. But El-Amin said he doesn’t mind that reference; although the bear symbolizes him.
Passionate Rebel also connects to the community “I want to see this lifestyle brand go global and multicultural…”
His brand has hosted community events in Newark, and has a documentary which further elaborates on their goals.
El-Amin has also expanded his design into breast cancer and Autism awareness, since family members close to him were affected by those ailments.
El-Amin says he wants his clothing to represent hope and change; something positive.
“…With everything going on the world now everyone is looking for a way out, and I want my clothing line to be that hope…”
