The July 2015 massacre that 22 year old Dylan Roof committed at the historical Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, killing 9 church goers, trial has reached a verdict.
The jury condemned Roof of the death penalty for the murders of the 9 bible study attendees. According to sources, Roof showed little to no emotion during his sentencing.
His remarks included “I felt like I had to do it, and I still feel like I had to do it,” “I have a right to ask you to give me a life sentence but I’m not sure what good that would do anything.”
