Kelly Rowland and Marsai Martin were both interviewed by Hot 97 radio hosts about their new movie ‘Fantasy Football’. The movie premiere on Paramount+ on November 25th.

The interview was going well and everyone was all smiles until radio host Rosenburg throws in a question, comparing Kelly Rowland to her Destiny’s Child group mate, Beyoncé. The question in question: “you recently got your flowers for your ability to play second to Beyoncé… it takes an ego check…. you happen to be sanding next to the brightest light on planet earth… it seemed like you loved the position you were in”. He went on to ask her how she felt in that situation?

Kelly gracefully responded that “Light attracts light, I am light. I am a beautiful shining brown light.. so I don’t think anybody’s light dims anyone else’s. I think when other people start to compare you it shows how dim they are themselves… I feel like people who compare are limited in their minds”.

Kelly definitely gracefully checked him. I think it is safe to say that the Beyoncé comparisons are questions done in bad taste and can be seen as insulting.
