Aaliyah’s Music Removed From Apple iTunes After Brief Availability

Thursday afternoon the late R&B singer Aaliyah’s music was briefly made available for streaming through the “Aaliyah’s Ultimate” album. Before the end of the day that music was removed from iTunes.

For all of you Aaliyah fans, there’s not so great news! Her hit songs are no longer available on Apple iTunes. For years now much of the late singer’s music has been impossible to stream online and it still is.

Rell Lafargu (the COO of Resevior Media, who are the right holders of Aaliyah’s discography)  “Our lawyers are handling it”.

Welp that service was truly short lived.

Aaliyah’s uncle Barry Hankerson owns the majority of her music’s masters and without his approval her music could not be streamed. In 2013 her music was uploaded to stream on Apple iTunes by a distribution company called Craze Digital, they were sued for this illegal distribution of her music. It is now still unavailable to stream online.
