Jonathan Majors Wil Serve No Jail Time Domestic Abuse Case Against his Ex-Girlfriend Grace Jabari

On Monday, April 8th Actor, Jonathan Majors reported to Manhattan Criminal Court for the assault case his ex-girlfriend filed against him last year. The judge didn’t issue any jail time, Majors was ordered to attend a year long ‘batteries intervention program‘ for committing third-degree assault and to continue therapy and counseling. The actor also received time served for second-degree harassment.

Judge Michael Gaffey handed down the 52-week program sentence, declining to issue jail time. He noted that this was Majors’ first criminal offense.

“I have to take into consideration the fact that you’ve never been arrested before and have absolutely no criminal record,” Gaffey said. “I want to warn you if you are not compliant or are arrested, you face time in jail.” “I have to take into consideration the fact that you’ve never been arrested before and have absolutely no criminal record,” Gaffey said. “I want to warn you if you are not compliant or are arrested, you face time in jail.”

Majors’ ex-girlfriend gave a statement following the sentencing, “When I was with him, I became a different version of myself. I was small, scared and vulnerable but held tightly in the palm of his abusive hand,” Jabbari said in her victim’s impact statement. Majors continued to “find ways to insert his false narrative” after the conviction on talk shows and through interviews, she said. “He is not sorry, he has not accepted responsibility, and he will do this again,” Jabbari said.

Majors declined to give a comment but his lawyer, Priya Chaudhry gave the following remarks “The jury acquitted Mr. Majors of all intentional charges, and for that we are grateful,” said Majors’s attorney. “While Mr. Majors respects the court and will abide by its decision and sentencing, Mr. Majors maintains his innocence and plans to appeal this conviction.”

“Mr. Majors is committed to growing and bettering himself as a person,” Chaudhry added. “We are optimistic Mr. Majors will work in the film industry soon.”
