Michael B. Jordan Brings Wakanda to His Hometown *Video*
Newark native and Hollywood actor Michael B. Jordan returned to his home town yesterday to bring the experience of Wakanda to students from his Alma mater, Arts High School.
.
At no financial cost to the students they were invited to attend an advanced screening of the Black Panther film in which Jordan plays a leading role. Jordan said in his interview below with Urban Girl Magazine that “…just being able to let these kids know that anything is possible and you’re capable of doing anything…”
.
The screening was held at Newark’s City Plex movie theater. Newark’s mayor Ras J. Baraka was in attendance as well as community leaders, activists, Jordan’s parents and others. The ‘purple carpet’ was hosted by Extra Tv’s AJ and comedian Franchesca Ramsey. Live music was provided by Dj Wallah. Immediately following the movie screening was a panel discussion entitled ‘Walking with Wakanda’.
