Vancouver, CA – Tennis all star Serena Williams spoke candidly about her pregnancy, career, and future plans during a TED talk hosted by Gayle King in Vancouver. Williams admitted that her snap chat pregnancy announcement was actually posted publicly by accident.

“I have this thing where I’ve been checking my status and taking pictures every week to see how far along I’m getting … I was just saving them [for myself,]…I’ve been so good about it, but this was the one time it slipped.”

Williams also told Gayle she didn’t know she was pregnant until 2 days before her big game in the Australian Open.

“I was nervous. I wasn’t quite sure what to think, but I knew that at that moment, it was really important for me to just focus,”

And focus she did she won her 23rd Grand Slam Singles title at the championship which set the record for the open era.

Serena also told Gayle she’s not done yet, and that motherhood would be an addition to her life, it’s not going to signify the end of her career.
